Who we are
Umoja Wendani Savings and Credit Co-Operative Society Ltd was registered in 2001 under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives. Its coined name “Umoja Wendani” is meant to describe a Sacco which is bound by “Unity in Love”. We believe in growth and development of all our members; our goal is economically empower our members through affordable financial services that will enable them address their financial needs as well as exploit growth opportunities around them As per our slogan, “growing together,” We are eager and committed to take the growth journey with all our members.
The SACCO derives its mandate from the Co-operative Societies Act and the Sacco By-laws. The Affairs of the SACCO are directed by the Central Management Committee (CMC) as provided for in the By-laws and overseen by the Supervisory Committee with both reporting to the Members Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The Central Management Committee (The CMC) is the governing authority of the Sacco, and directs all its affairs as per the direction of the AGM. The CMC has three main sub-committees;

- The Education Sub-Committee
- The Credit Sub-Committee
